I started my days in Norrath in the city of Qeynos. Well that isn't exactly true, I started my days in the sewers beneath Qeynos. Here I found myself surrounded by evil in the bowels of the city of men. I was frightened at first but when I laid eyes on the leader of this pocket of evil I knew I had found my true calling and I begged to become part of their sect. So I began the long journey down the path of the necromancer.
I journeyed out into the city to find my path and happened upon an obviously higher-level druid. My mouth drew back in a sneer at seeing the silly woman, and just as I was about to make some dry and witty remark about emptying my bladder on her beloved trees, she hailed me. I was apprehensive to speak to her ilk but decided to see what she had to say for herself. She said nothing and handed me 3 backpacks and 20pp.
"What vile druid deed would you have me do for these trinkets?" I asked.
"I bid you safe hunting and travels all of your days." She replied and waved goodbye. How's this? I thought to myself? A silly stinking Druid just gives me things out of kindness? This did not sit well in my black heart and knew that these druids were evil and not to be trusted. I left and went on my ways. I stayed close by this city for sometime eventually coming across a silly rambling Wizard outside the walls of the city of my birth.
"Hail, Ashmael." Said Cobo.
"Hail, Cobo." Said I. I immediately did not care much for this fool in a dress, but there was something about him that intrigued me.
"What are you?" Asked the sniveling Wizard.
"I am the King." I responded matter of factly.
"Yeah sure you are, there is no one more powerful than I, The All Powerful Cobo!" He raised his arms while saying this last bit as if to emphasize his GRAND status.
I snickered softly at him, all the while knowing that he was in fact much more powerful than I or my pathetic, yet beloved skelly.
So began the odd friendship of an apprentice Necromancer named Ashmael and a "Very" Powerful Wizard named Cobo.
Cobo watched me in my battles for a bit and agreed I was very powerful in my own right.
"Power dealt on rat's and bat's is one thing though," he paused, "I think it is time for your first big journey away from this place to a new home."
I thought about it for a bit, I had always known I would one day leave here I just hadn't thought it would be so soon.
"What will there be for me where you plan to take me?" I asked Cobo the Clown, as I now thought of him in my mind.
Cobo responded with one word, "Friends."
"Bah, I don't need friends, I fight alone, I journey alone, I am the King!" I snapped at him.
"The King of Rat's and Bat's and the sewer's that you crawl?" The knowledgeable Cobo asked me. This of course infuriated me.
"Fine I will travel with you but I have no need of these friends of yours." I said in a soft hiss.
And so began, the next leg of my journey to Freeport and the Commons. It was a long and difficult journey for one so untutored in the arts as myself. There was many a druid that expressed a deep seeded hatred towards me along the way. This only intensified my hatred for their kind. Long was the road but we finally made it to the city of Freeport.
"Here is your new home Ashmael." Cobo said and vanished.
I was quite apprehensive at first knowing full well the feelings most folk have of those who deal in the Black arts. But to my surprise the City welcomed me. I fought here for many a days throughout the commons and venturing further in my journeys I even made it to an oasis although I quickly learned how hard life is there.
One day I was sitting in the tunnel in East Commons working on my newly discovered skills as a tailor when I looked up and noticed Cobo was there. I pretended not to see him and continued my work.
"Ahhh, Ashmael, I asked you a question." Cobo said obviously annoyed.
"Oh it's you." I said to him with an evil sneer.
"Do you wish to join our family?" Cobo asked, He asked me the question a total of 3 times now, and I ignored him each time.
"What family? And why would I wish to be a part of it?" I said with a scowl.
"We call ourselves The Exodus Fellowship, and I am asking you to be a part of it." It become obvious that Cobo was getting somewhat annoyed with me.
"Family? Sounds like some sort of a circus, or maybe a cult." I said this half joking but he did not take it well and began to stomp off.
"Wait!" I said quickly.
"You wish to join us?" Cobo asked me again.
I thought to myself about how lonely and hard it is to be evil day and night with none to look to for help.
"Yes I will join you." I said quickly afraid of the consequences.
Many people welcoming me with open arms soon surrounded me and I was completely overwhelmed. Thus, my entrance into the fabled Exodus Fellowship.
The rest of my life has been a blur of events, good and bad. I have spent all these times in the family that were once snickered at by a lowly necromancer who knew nothing. Now I am proud to call myself an officer on the High Council of this family and am unfortunately still friends with that Great and Powerful Clown Cobo. Travel with me if you will, hunt and quest with me if you can, I am Ashmael Soultaker follower of Bertoxxulous, apt pupil of the Dark Arts and proud member and officer of Exodus Fellowship.
